New Norms
Choices...
Small choices: Wanted to go for world vision's concert today, but family dinner... still wanted to go, but directions were difficult... so family dinner it was :)
No regrets - love my cousins, now all growing up, hitting PSLE and such... the guy talking about supporting brazil in the world cup, needing the affirmation, talking about time, doing stuff...the girls all bunched up playing their games, wearing new clothes and enjoying genuine compliments to their dress. Really nice to just give them a hug and sow a few kind words into their life. Love em like this, before they all grow up.
Singlehood...
Crossing over to a phase to take a long, hard look at God, self, expectations, friends and partners. Its time to prepare to shoulder the burden, but also share the joy, of walking together. Theres a certain mindset that has been not enough before... selfishness, pure and simple.
There must be a search to live life with less of self, more of agape. There have been enough failings to find it in my sinful self, and its time to cry out, and cry out again, to God to love as He loved us.
A friend in need...
Facing a fresh problem... a friend trying to reach out to whos in debt.. how do i react? will the loans get too big? when do i draw the line? i trust... but should i trust..?
...the next time, I must be ready to do what needs to be done.
Proverbs 6
Warnings Against Folly
1 My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor,if you have struck hands in pledge for another,
2 if you have been trapped by what you said,
ensnared by the words of your mouth,
3 then do this, my son, to free yourself,
since you have fallen into your neighbor's hands:
Go and humble yourself;
press your plea with your neighbor!
4 Allow no sleep to your eyes,
no slumber to your eyelids.
5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter,
like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
Charting courses...
1Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. 2We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check.
3When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal. 4Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. 5Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. 6The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. - James 3
Its time to draw swords and cover ground... speak the truth... over self, over lies, over the rubbish that the world is throwing, the past is digging up and the devil is whispering.
"Then I will let her waters settle
and make her streams flow like oil,
declares the Sovereign LORD" Ez - 32:14
