WOTD
30 metres away, the pier opposite the fullerton seems to be quite the haven for caucasian executives... perhaps one day i'll dine there (at exorbitant prices) decked out in an expensive suit (in the burning sun, of course) and talking to business partners (about deals i really couldnt care less about).
But today, not too far off in a quiet corner, sipping my soup with a malay man sleeping on the cardboard nearby, the Lord rebuilds one battered soul.
The Word Of The Day, as it often is, is a simple one, but one that will be close to me, because it is born not out of an 8 week plan of scripture memory, but through difficult lessons God allows to happen as the story of life itself unfolds.
"You are all the same...There is no difference..."
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:22-24
Bros n sis, we mouth this verse often.
Crusaders, some say that if we were cut in the arm, one would find the 4SL (and this verse) coursing out of our veins instead of blood :)
...But do we really believe it? Do we live like we believe it? Talk like we believe it? (For out of the overflow of the heart...)
Or, somewhere within all the christianese speak, us-and-them attitudes, and unspoken holier-than-thous hearts, is there just a bit of pharisee nestled somewhere within...
Truth is, we in the church, on the inside? They in the world, on the outside?
"You are all the same...There is no difference..."
We are all unworthy. From Robert's "RRRrrrreeeppeenntt!" last sunday, to Micah 6's loving mercy to the messages entwined in each season of life... It is a story of amazing grace. Nothing more.
Now, I *know*. The verse is true.
(Turn to the person next to you and say, 'hi, sinner' :)
Let Your Glory Fill This House
Let Your glory fill this house
Let Your praise be in my mouth
Let each vessel offer up to you
A sacrifice of praise
For you alone are holy
You alone are worthy
You deserve the glory
Jesus You alone
