Lift Up Your Eyes
I can’t remember exactly when this season started… perhaps it was a couple of months back, when MLPG covered Genesis 13, or perhaps it was the warm afterglow of one of the best BC Christmases to date, or perhaps further back, when I opened myself up signs and wonders and to that still small voice again.
Regardless, God has been faithful, and more than faithful J The word for the season has returned, (and I believe, the word IN season), is ‘Lift up your eyes.’
Lift up your eyes from the me, myself and I…
Lift up your eyes from the dry and mundane…
Lift up your eyes to look and see the land the Lord, our God, is giving you, is giving us.
This comes at such a wonderful time too… it is planning time for the worship team, and with divine connections like that… I believe this season will be another God-directed one.
Not only that… but I guess also personally, there something about being in this season that just makes dreams come alive…sometimes when I close my eyes n look to You, I almost sense I might one day be called to worship you before crowds and fields… or even stadiums filled with worshippers, and my heart just skips a beat. Not because of what i might get out of it, but because zeal for Your house consumes me.... where and when will and how will the resounding praise of heaven and earth next join together to give you glory?
Also, as far as every big God-dream is concerned... I’ve been through the whole pride thing some years ago, but it’s still important to watch that I don’t fall into pride or that smug self-importance. If anyone ever reads this and sees me get out of line, please, speak the truth in love.
And also not just the big things, but the small too... dreams of one day making my home one that is always open to cells, worship teams, other people on this journey of faith. Of sharing your word to the next generation, even of moving on to eventually start a family.
Many good things, many God things... Dad, i am unworthy of this favour and position... but thank you so much for a life abundant.
"Lift up your eyes from where you are and look north and south, east and west. All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted. Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you." Gen 13.
:I set myself on fire and people come to watch me burn..." - John Wesley
