Corporate Crashes

Man... what a snapshot of corporate uglyness... a busy GM and a line of pple waiting outside the door to see her. My manager didn't make an appointment and was in the line too.

We waited for abt 10 min, and my mgr's voice was somehow heard.. GM calls her secretary, like 5 metres away, and tells her to tell us to go away and make an appointment. Ook... fair enough.

A few unsuccessful phone calls later, my mgr gets thru n get directed to another department. We go over, wait at the office of the other department, and when its our turn my mgr barges in and gives his perspective of things. He's really nice, but everything he says is all from his POV and i just don't see the communication happening. More ding dongs follow and i start to understand how a shuttlecock feels like.

To top it off, this stretches till past 6, and the HQ office doors all auto-lock. Then came one that made me squirm, we didnt have an appt and no one wld open the door for us... but my mgr sqeezed in after someone else went in to get a chance to get a few moments of time.

Add one boss in a hurry, a whole lot of miss-e-pt communication, some sulking around, and a regular dose getting told off a by a lady secretary, its a wonder how my mgr keeps his sanity, let alone dignity.

All the gan-chiong-ness and overeaction to any little comment by top management puts me off. I dare say there is a place for a man of peace and the good witness of a man willing to submit to authority yet take initiative to do fuitful work... but somethings are just not worth it. Integrity, dignity, friendship... they shall stay.

Uknow.. i may not be in any position to change this in any way, still not even having my confirmation letter and all...

but Dad...

surprise me :)

Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed. - Prov 11:11
